Fer’s Rum-infused Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

• 1 cup dark corn syrup

• 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

• 3 large eggs

• Generous shot of dark rum

• Sprinkle of salt

• Half a large bag of pecans

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the dark corn syrup, dark brown sugar, eggs, dark rum, and salt. Stir until fully mixed.

3. Add the Pecans: Gently fold in the pecans, ensuring they are evenly coated in the filling.

4. Fill the Crust: Pour the mixture into a deep-dish pie crust (or divide evenly between two regular pie crusts).

5. Bake: Place the pie in the oven. Cover the edges of the crust with a pie ring or foil to prevent over-browning.

• For a deep-dish pie: Bake for about 1 hour, or until the filling is set.

• For regular crusts: Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the filling is set.

6. Cool: Allow the pie to cool before serving to let the filling firm up.
